Lick

Bobby and I tried a new ice cream place tonight called Lick. They have some creative flavors and use all natural and locally grown ingredients. I had ginger grapefruit, too hot chocolate (chocolate with chipotle peppers), and strawberry basil. Bobby had blackberry lemon basil, caramel salt lick, and vanilla bean honey. Next time I want to try the goat cheese honey thyme.

Athens, Georgia

Bobby and I went to Athens last weekend for our niece's Bat Mitzvah. It was a jam packed, fun, and special trip.

One Year Ago this Weekend

Friday:  I was bawling my eyes out thanks to a stressful work situation and then freaking out because the next morning Bobby and I were taking our engagement photos.  I tried every remedy in the book for puffy eyes including a cold pack and hemorrhoid cream.

Saturday:  Bobby and I had a fun time getting our picture taken by our photographer, Katherine O'Brien.

at home with our late sweet Kwyjibo who could no longer walk at this time.  Our living room looks completely different today.  The Ikea couch made a young college craigslist shopper very happy.  I would be too for $20!   The walls are covered with framed posters and we no longer have that coffee table or rug.  Oh yeah, and that couple is now 7 months married.

My keys to success

Bobby and I are in Athens, Georgia for the weekend for our niece's Bat Mitvah.  There's lots of talk about how she's becoming a woman, an adult, this weekend so I decided to give her my two keys to success in life.  You're welcome, Sara!

1. Learn Japanese
2. Don't ever get a tattoo

In Japan I decided that we would try every restaurant in Chinatown Center. Today we tried some Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine at TC Noodle House and had some delicious crispy chicken and salt and pepper shrimp.

We Got Married Here

I went back to Spider House today for the first time since Bobby and I got married there six months ago for a Mortified rehearsal.  (A FOUR hour long rehearsal...but still fun and a great way to get my mind off of how stressful work is right now.) I'm loving the improvements they've made and jealous of the new stage and backdrop outside  The picture is of the spot where the old ugly stage used to be...the spot where Bobby and I said our vows on the best day of my life.

A date with my husband

Bobby won tickets to the Bon Iver Austin City Limits taping this week. I love tapings and we've been lucky enough to get to go to a few recently. It's a good reminder of the good things Austin has to offer even if it's already hitting 90 degrees.
